Franken-Food is a public-information-style short film exploring society’s global addiction to ultra-processed foods. It is a social commentary on the manipulative reality of the advertising industry and the glorification of these products. To educate viewers on the health dangers, the film uses the narration of an NHS infectious diseases doctor, Chris Van Tulleken. Combining that with a horror aesthetic, the story of Frankenstein is a metaphor: the monster's unnatural laboratory creation resembles the breakdown of whole foods and their rebuilding into chemically modified substances.
